When Lyn turned 3, her mother started to become spiteful of her. She no longer was a caring mother, she wasn’t even a good mother ever. As Lyn grew older, her mother found more things to criticize her about. As her powers showed and developed more and more, her mother became worse. She was scared of Lyn. When Lyn was nine her mother decided she was too weird and scary to keep around. She gave Lyn to an agency. The Alternate. The leaders quickly got Lyn to get ahold of her powers. Not even one week later she was sent on her first mission. It was relatively simple in theory but when she came back with no information, the headmistress decided she needed to work with a partner from then on. It took a while to find her one, especially since her powers still flared up at random moments. A few years later, after switching through hundreds of partners, they finally were able to work with someone else. His name was Ethan. And Lyn fell in love with him at the age of 16. At 17, she started dating him and by age 19 she was engaged. He became like her mother was. Cruel, demeaning. On their supposed to be wedding day she decided she’d had enough. She didn’t want to stay an assassin forever, and she certainly didn’t want to stay with Ethan. So she escaped. She ran for days until eventually finding a place called Sokovia. She hid out there in an old abandoned house, eventually being dragged out by Natasha Romanoff. She hesitantly let Natasha take her to the helicarrier, and eventually moved into the Avengers tower. For a while Natasha was the only person she talked to, the only person she trusted. And one day Nat asked if she could adopt her, and she agreed.
